The Difference Between Successful Entrepreneurs and (about to be) Failed Business Owners

In case you need to be reminded, it’s 2013! The times have completely changed and there are things in this generation that the past generation just cannot fathom. Only the real Entrepreneurs adjust to the constant changes that the Business Industry keeps throwing at us.

Depending on your business structure, print advertising is becoming irrelevant faster than we want it to be. I cannot remember the last time I invested my advertising dollars in printing an ad on the newspaper but I remember that it did not return anything on my investment. I do not know enough people that still picks up the newspaper and the few people that do, skip to the meat and potatoes of the paper. Most of us get on the internet to read the latest news: Huffingtonpost.com, msnbc.com, msn.com, and a lot of the news that we receive are not even organic. Most of the time, I run into someone’s facebook post about a current event or I notice a retweet from twitter.

Social Media is only one of the factors & trends that Entrepreneurs have to keep up with. There are other trending topics that fall under other categories besides advertising. There are new ways to invest, new ways to seek venture capitalists, new ways to reach financial success etc… The best strategy for success is to keep up with the trend – attend tradeshows, workshops and conferences. A successful entrepreneur agrees with this and a failed business owner is resistant not only to change but to continued education. THAT is what sets the two apart.

In the spirit of continued education, I would like to invite any of you who are reading this blog to attend #THELISTLA (by the way, if you’re sitting there thinking that the “#THELISTLA” is a typo, then you really need to come to this conference….)
