How many minutes or hours do you spend on your Smart Phone in one sitting? The photo above shows a pretty accurate graph of how we spend our time on our smart phones. It is the greatest invention ever and we all tip our hat off to the geniuses behind this idea.

We all use smart phones as consumers but only a few of us business owners actually capitalize on the opportunity because either we feel it is beyond our marketing budget or that we simply do not want to bother. Well, I hate to break it to you but this is just the beginning of the end of PCs and Laptops.

Here are three ways you can take advantage of the mobile age:

1. Mobile Website – Make sure that your website is also mobile friendly. Plenty of companies hire services to build a mobile site. This simply means it’s faster to load on smart phones. You can start by asking your web designer if they can do this for you.

2. Mobile App – App downloads will reach 5 billion by 2015! Download other apps from businesses similar to yours and see how they optimize mobile apps. Keep in mind that app users need a “reason” to download your app.

3. Mobile Marketing – Send SMS text messages to your customers whenever you are having an event, a special promotion or a product launch. It’s the best and fastest way to communicate these days seeing that emails are inundated with junk mail!

Your customers are most likely on their smart phones more than they are in front of their PCs. Don’t miss out on a chance to effectively reach them on their smart phones.
